Media is more cricket crazy than People of India including the players!

There are two things Indians are totally and utterly crazy about - Bollywood Movies and Cricket. Right? Completely Wrong!! It's only the media and few money-makers who thinks and acts that way. I suppose the "Emotional Tadka" many not work for long. TV Channels that bought rights to beam the cricket world cup tournament 2007, India's defeat was a financial disaster. New phenomenas like Indian Premier League can only prove to be utter waste of time and resources for this growth-hungry country!

There are groups of relaxed and happier ones, though. Let the money go where it should! One can even speculate media-bookie nexus!! As per reports, the rise of the bookie and the phenomenon of match fixing which nearly destroyed cricket's credibility as a competitive sport, was a by-product of the new South Asian audience for one-day cricket. Pakistan and India are now the dysfunctional giants of South Asian cricket - and I think is paves way for us to invest in other more popular international sports.

After all, we are talking about only Sports or a Game, which can never be a religion - as propagated by numerous media showcases in India - or shall I say they are teaching us what our religion should be! Just forget it.
